We're creating a couple of festive wine boxes this year, containing a mix of W+L classics and exciting new wines. The first box is "O Come, All Ye Thirsty" packed with wines so good that you'll soon forget about the clunky pun. The second box is "Green Nicky" which features wines made from organic grapes and with minimum intervention in the winery. We'll publish the precise details of what's in each box on our website in the next week or so, but in summary, each box will contain 6 wines to pair with your Christmas Day: one sparkling, a couple of white/ orange, a couple of reds and a dessert wine.
 
We are holding a tasting of all 12 of these festive wines (with nibbles) at the shop on Friday 6th December from 8.30pm-11pm. If previous years are anything to go by, it'll be more of a friendly melee than a guided tasting, so we're charging accordingly at a low, low £20 a head, just to cover some costs.  If you'd like to come, please email hello@wildandlees.com and let us know if you're bringing anyone with you. We'll email you back with a payment link and see you on the night!

We're delighted to be joined at Wild + Lees by Kristin Syltevik, the owner of the UK's largest organic wine estate, Oxney. Kristin will be pouring from their range of still and sparkling wines and giving us a unique insight into organic wine-making in the Sussex/ Kent countryside! We're teaming up again with our good friends at the Bullfinch Brewery for what promises to be a tasty evening of cheese, beer and wine. There will be 6 different cheeses from the excellent Mons cheesemongers in East Dulwich and we'll be pairing those with 3 beers and 3 wines. We're teaming up again with our friends at the Bullfinch Brewery on Rosendale Road, to bring you another screening of classic 2004 wine film "Sideways", with matching wines! 

As we follow Miles and Jack in their quest to find great wine, true love, carnal gratification etc, we'll be serving up 6 wines that echo the wines tasted by the pair in some pivotal scenes of the movie. We'll even have a Pinot Noir from Miles's favourite spot and Maya's place of work, the Hitching Post winery!

A few points of order:

1. Just a heads up that we'll be pausing the film for a couple of minutes for each of the 6 wines so that we can talk about the wine you're drinking.

2. If you'd like a beer between wines, the Bullfinch bar will be open.

3. We'll provide some nuts, crips and olives. If you want something more substantial, Yard Sale pizza is available to order.

In the first of our "Discover" series of tastings, we have teamed up with Rootstock Wines, to take you on an oenological journey to the under-explored Gaillac and Fronton regions in the Southwest of France. We will be sampling 5 wines from boutique producers Domaine de Brin, Chateau Flotis and Domaine Philemon. These are stunning, unique wines, striking the perfect balance between rusticity and elegance. They are predominantly made from local grape varieties not often seen on these shores. Fortuitously, the region is also the home of cassoulet, so we'll be offering you a bowl of this rustic, meaty dish to enjoy with your wines. Thursday 16th February at 7pm. £10 a ticket!
